Dear CSSN Volunteer,
As National Volunteer Week comes to an end, Community Support Services of Niagara (CSSN) would like to thank each one of you, for your ongoing commitment to our agency and our clients.
The global pandemic has brought forth many challenges. However, along with these challenges came opportunities for growth and improved processes. I cannot even begin to think of how CSSN would have fared without you. You stood beside us as we quickly pivoted to ensure safety plans were in place to protect our greatest resources – you, our volunteers, as well as those we serve.
These necessary changes ensured no meals were left undelivered. The value of our door side chats was highlighted for many of our clients. Tens of thousands of calls were made to clients to help alleviate fears and minimize loneliness. Thousands of groceries were delivered, allowing clients to remain in the safety of their own homes. These are just a few of the jobs that were performed by our many volunteers.
Please know that your actions have made a tremendous impact in the lives of so many older adults living in Niagara. You have also made an enormous impact in the lives of our staff, board of directors, and me. I am truly grateful for your ongoing support and endless dedication to CSSN, our clients and our community.
We so look forward to celebrating all of you formally and in person but until such time we want you to know how much you are appreciated and valued.
